I appear to have lost approx a huge amount ofspace on my Windows Vista(32 bit) and I cannot seem to get it back. I am going to give you as much information as I can pn one problem I think I have and hope you can see where my problem is. After a lot of checking of my drives I have the following available...
C:/ Drive 116 GG on this partition but only have 37.8 GB free - So as you can see a lot of space missing in this drive/
E:/Drive 115 GB on this partition and have 106 GB free
When I click start, and then Carol and get my list for all my folders I am appear to have 3 folders named Carol and I do not remember creating another 2?
The first Carol folder shows all my files as in Destop, Documents, Downloads etc, etc I have tried right clicking on the first Carol to click on properties but it is not showing properties when I right click this one it is showing Collapse, Groove folder synchronization, explore, open, browse with tesco picture manager, norton, winzip, new copy and delete.
The second Carol folder I right click on (which is in a "user" folder I can right click on properties and this is showing
Type - File Folder
Location - C:\Users
Size 22.8GB
Size on Disc 23.2 GB
Contains 205.871 Files, 11,260
Created on 12th December 2008,
The Third Carol folder when I click on properties has..
AppData and states the following.
The size in this one is 961.KB
The size on disc is 0.98 mb

The first 2 Carol folders have exactly the same in them, I have tried to delete some files from one and then when I check they have also been deleted from the other? Very confused as I don't think I should have 3 Carol's folders
I scan my discs every week, have auto defrag on, also run my norton, no virus, malware or spyware. Checked all my programmes and they seem OK too. So???? I am going mad her trying to sort this mess out, not sure at all what has happened.
I have just run my CCleaner and that's all seems OK now, but then I scanned the Registry and it has come up with quite a lot of problem which are all listed. I clicked fix selected issues and I am getting a message come up saying.... Do you want to back up changes to the Registry? Yes - No - Cancel . I am not to sure what to do with these issue as I have never clicked on this one before.
I did wonder should I delete them and then put them all back in one "Carol" folder and see how that goes, I have everything backed up on my laptop so I am not likely to loose anything if I do delete. I don't think this will give me all the space back I am missing but if you can help it will be a start, Thank you so much, Carol!
