ive been having this problem for a while now...
Windows 7 Pro x64
8Gb 1333Mhz Ram
Gigabyte Motherboard H77M-D3H
Core-i5 3470
XFX 450 Pro Core PSU
120Gb Samsung 840 SSD
500Gb Seagate Barracuda HDD
Q-Connect Wireless Keyboard & Mouse
..I put my computer too sleep and leave it, when I go to wake it using keyboard or mouse nothing happens, so I turn on using the power button on the tower and there is a long pause of about 10-15 seconds, then the monitor turns on with the message "windows did not shutdown properly" and gives me the option to start in safe mode or normally etc etc..
theres nothing in event viewer that shows any problems (other than it did not shutdown properly)
theres no dump files
its like power is just being cut too the system anywhere between 5-15 minutes of the computer going to sleep (5-15 minutes estimated from event viewer log ... "The previous system shutdown at 16:13:38 on 31/05/2013 was unexpected.")
I have reinstalled windows several times to no avail, I started to wonder if it was my USB wireless Mouse & Keyboard...perhaps the battery was low causing dodgy signal to go to computer while it was asleep crashing it? and right enough I changed the batteries and it never crashed over 5 sleep sessions over 3 days!! - but put it too sleep this afternoon for couple of hours and went to turn it on and it had crashed again?? it was odd because normally it would crash on 90% of sleep sessions... I changed the batteries and it slept fine for 5 sessions before crashing on the 6th one.
I have used the wireless Keyboard and mouse for a few months now without issue - after the first couple of times these crashes happened I decided to reinstall windows, I went to secure erase the SSD and it said there was a firmware update...so I updated it, someone suggested this may be the cause but I did have it happen before that..
its literally like someone is pulling the plug out while its asleep... so no dump files and no log...
its bugging the hell out of me and I am wondering if theres anyway of finding out whats causing it?
I would appreciate it if anyone could help me sus this out? I like to use Sleep because
A) I can turn it on by pressing key on keyboard, tower is behind a door..
B) scheduled software can wake the computer, eg. Backups daily
C) its still quicker to start up and uses almost zero extra power as off
thanks in advance :)
