Okay so about few days ago, my computer just shuts down, randomly. I wasn't in the room at the time so i cant describe what sounds occurred. But i have deduced that my power supply unit (PSU) is fine by doing the paper clip test. The motherboard (MB) is fine because the green light is fully lit and indicating that it is receiving power. I also confirmed that it was not my graphics card after taking it out and trying to boot it up without it in the MB. I also tried having only one stick of RAM in its slots. My operating system is windows 7 if anyone needed to know.
When I try to turn it on, nothing happens. All i am getting is my fan are starting to turn on but stop about 1 to 2 seconds later.
my computer specs are
500 Watt PSU
M4A88T-M Asus MB
Phenom II CPU
HIS 4760 Graphics card
8 Gbs of RAM
I'm not sure what else it could be other than the CPU because when i went to see what could have been wrong initially, there was a lot of dust in the fins of the heat sink. and all inside of the tower there was an abundance of dust. So I cleaned the inside best I could using condensed air. While making the inside almost completely dust free, I did not get it to run again.
Any suggestions or tips or anything helpful would be great, since if not then I will be replacing the CPU.
