Samsung WB110 turn on Lens Error

When my parents went on holiday to America they brought a Samsung WB110 Digital SLR camera. They have only had it about 2 months and all of a sudden the lens seems to run through a cycle of extending itself and then retracting it self then doing nothing. It is fine for viewing photos when you push the button on it to review photos but any mode to take photos it runs through that cycle and then turns off.

Personally I have found nothing on any fix or anything and im not sure about warranty or anything, seeing as it was purchased on the other side of the world.
