Firstly I should say I am living in student accommodation and have the provider Ask4. They only provide a wired connection but allow us to set up routers as WAP's (so the DHCP server option must be disabled).
I'm trying to get it working with my 3DS but am having no luck. The connection test sometimes says it works for a few seconds after I restart the router (BT homehub 3) but then it just fails and I can never actually do anything with it.
I've tried everything I can think of; different routers, different settings. I hope I am being dumb and someone will point out my mistake.
Oh, I've also worked out its the wireless in general. I can connect the router to the ethernet and then the computer to the router and it works fine. Laptop did not work with wireless.
Lastly I should say ask4 ask us to register the MAC addresses of devices, but I've added those for the laptop's wireless and 3DS.
Anyone providing help can have a cookie, I've wasted a lot of time on this :)
