Slow performance when running browser - Changing scheme dialogue box

Hi,

I'm running Win7 on a netbook and has been working fine without any game changer troubles for a few years though in the last two days I've found when just simply browsing the internet the performance of the netbook drops and I start getting the "Do you want to change the colour scheme to improve performance" dialogue constantly.

It occurs on both Chrome and I.E and the performance drop is especially noticeable when a page is loading and the usual rolling loading circle jumps rather than a consistent roll. The problem is only when browsing so I have no problem looking through folders or access programs.

I've done a clean up of programs I don't use as well as a CCleaner clean and my hard drive remains 78% empty (free space).

I'm using a BenQ Joybook Lite U121 Eco and connecting to a G wireless connection though that isn't the problem as it works fine on other computers and devices.

I appreciate in advance any help I can get so if anybody has any solutions or ideas?
