I have a hp Pavilion Dv7-2177Cl laptop here with a interesting battery issue. It is run on AC 99% of the time. Never had any problems with it. Last night when I shut it down I noticed the battery light was blinking. I thought that was odd. I know it wasn't before as that would have drove me nuts. When I powered it back up I got a warning that the battery was at a critical level (from the BIOS), and I had to hit enter to continue. It boots fine, but the battery says 0% and won't charge.
I had a spare battery and slipped that in, and everything is fine. So I know it is the battery. Anyone ever have a battery be fine one minute and totally dead the next? Especially for one not used much and kept charged? Seemed a bit odd to me.
I have heard about putting the battery in a freezer for a few days, then letting it thaw and see if it charges then. Anyone ever try this? It is Li-on battery pack.
