I have just received a new, internal SATA hard-drive and am not familiar with this type of drive; only with older IDE drives.
I notice the four-pin power connector is not present on the back of the drive. Could someone please tell me how the drive is powered? Is it normally powered through the large SATA connector? If so, the power and the data will be coming through the USB port on my computer because I wish to use the HDD as an external drive. That seems like too great a load on the USB port. Am I overly concerned?
