I have a Toshiba L305-S5933 Satellite. It has given me fine service. However yesterday I want to work it and the keyboard wasn't working. I plugged in a usb keyboard and it showed up on the device manager but it didn't work either.

I think but am not sure this problem started started after I uninstalled a recent update to the Synaptics pointing device because it was giving me error messages. Now I can't reinstall the Synaptics poinging device because I can't search for the answer because I can't use the keyboard. This post is being typed on my desktop PC.

Note: But one question I have is how uninstalling the Synaptics pointing device would affect an external USB keboard? It doesn't make any sense.

As far as steps I have taken to solve the problem I have restored the registry, I have enabled and disabled they keyboard in the device manager. I have searched for new drivers. I have left it off overnight and nothing seems to work.

There are three entries in the Device Manager under HID compliant keyboard. They all say the same thing. They say "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged (code 19)"

I'm using Windows 7. Is there anyway I can fix this thing?
