Wireless Adapter Woes

Hello, everyone.

Last week, I purchased [url="http://www.amazon.com/Airlink-compatible-Wireless-Mini-USB-AWLL5099/dp/B006ZZUK5Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376336803&sr=8-1&keywords=airlink+awll5099"]this wireless adapter-/url]--an AirLink AWLL5099 Wireless N Adapter--to use with my Fedora 18 system. I pruchased this adapter because some of tis reviews stated that it worked well with the Raspberry Pi, so I inherently thought that it would also work well with Fedora. I guess that I was wrong.

When I received the adapter, I immediately went to test it out. The system detected it, the kernel module for the adapter's RealTek chipet was loaded, and I was able to connect to my home network. The adapter worked for awhile, but then it started to malfunction. The device would completely stop functioning. I would have to remove and re-insert the adapter to try and re-establish my wireless connection. Then ti went from a partially functional state to a state in which it would not connect whatsoever.

I am not quite sure what the problem is, and so I am thinking about returning the adapter and looking for one which will be more reliable. This adapter was priced at $9.99, and right now that is about all that I can afford. Does anyone know either (1) a solution to what is taking place with this adapter or (2) a more compatible adapter which I can purchase which will be more dependable?

I really appreciate any input which you have to offer as concerning this matter.

Take care.
