Installing a 3TB internal harddrive (Win 7 32-bit)

Hi all,

As the header suggests I am looking at swapping my 1.5TB internal HDD for a 3TB internal HDD. It is the E drive and I am running the OS (Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 32-bit) and all programs on the smaller C drive, so this new E drive would be for storage only (music and movies).

The HDD I have in mind is this:

I did some research and I understand that the HDD needs to be initialised by converting to GPT as Windows 7 32-bit is only capable of recognising 2.2TB or so.

The motherboard is an iXtreme X2712, the RAM is 3GB and the processor is an Intel 3GHz dual core Pentium (R) D.

As you might have gathered by now, my knowledge is basic so I would appreciate any advice regarding other things I need to consider. Will I have to get another motherboard (or even another PC)?
Is there anything else I need to do in order to utilise the full capacity of the 3TB HDD?

Thank you

Tom
