Hi all. I finally have my pc working well after a virus (and other disasters) using XP SP3.
Now, I would like to install Win7 as a second OS.
I currently have XP installed on a new 1TB drive and use my 2TB drive for data storage. I am thinking to install Win7 on the 2TB. Do I need to create a partition(100gb?) or should I just install it without one?
Another option is to buy a new 100gb HDD and install it on that.
I am looking to do the easiest, less-headaches-in-the-future method. I don't know if having 2 OS's will require me to hit delete upon startup and then select which OS I would prefer or how that whole scenario plays out.
Also, would Win7 have any problems accessing programs which were installed using XP?
I am thinking of using windows 7 home premium sp1 64 bit (oem) system builder dvd 1 pack. I don't see any reason to use professional. Is there one for home use? I don't need the languages and I feel 16gb of ram capability is enough.
Any problems using a 64 bit and a 32 bit OS on the same PC?
Sorry if these questions sound basic but this is a big step for me. Looking at past threads here and they mostly deal with problems or errors arising after doing this so this is why the basic question.
Much thanks to any and all
