Sorry to bother you guys with this. I'm half-asleep and won't be thinking clearly much until Monday.
During XP bootup (after login) one of my startup apps (or drivers) is freezing for roughly 3 minutes or so. Explorer goes invisible, nothing happens, but the mouse still moves. After that, the computer suddenly starts performing like it should.
Is there a program I can use, perhaps a startup monitor? Or even a log file somewhere, that would indicate which app or driver it is that's locking up?
It's a brand-new fresh install on a new computer. (Just got a Fatal1ty board with i5.)
Things were ok at first. Then I installed the mobo drivers. That freezing happened at that point, but only for about 3 to 5 seconds. Then after all Windows Updates, that's when the freeze went off the deep end. And I have no way of finding out which update may be the culprit. Any ideas?
Note that there's nothing else installed except one game. No other applications.
