After having owned a PS2, I find that I prefer gaming on my PC. However, that doesn't mean that I don't like console games. Now, with the emulators that are already out there, I know I won't have that much trouble playing games from different systems on the same PC. However, I'm seeing another issue. Ex: Can I use a PS2 controller to play non-PS2 games? Obviously, it's a matter of what the game is I'll be playing (keeping in mind that cartridge games have to be imported and could, potentially, get tweaked so that they can use any kind of controller more easily). However, discs will depend on the emulator playing them. So, are there emulators that can be setup to use any kind of controller?
(Note: Even if there are multi-purpose adapters out there, I don't like the XBOX controller. Not that I hate it. I just don't like that it's bulky.)
