Problem with System Preferences

Hello Forum Members,

My MBP continues to freeze at the System Preferences > Desktop & Screensaver phase with the following console messages;

11/07/13 9:17:32.891 PM System Preferences[13477]: *** WARNING: -[NSImage compositeToPoint:operation:] is deprecated in MacOSX 10.8 and later. Please use -[NSImage drawAtPoint:fromRect:operation:fraction:] instead.

Could someone please advise a work around or any potential issues?
This has been happening for some time and is becoming quite annoying.
