How to remove Google+ in 2013

I didn't sign up for Google+, I was forced to accept it when signing up for GMail. And I want to remove Google+ from my Google Account. But how do I remove it? I googled and found some instructions on how to remove Google+ but these instructions seems to be outdated and don't work in 2013. I don't see the option to click "Delete profile and remove associated Google+ feature".

Here is a screenshot of the Account page described by Google. In Account Overview, you can see the Services section where we can remove Google+.

But when I login to my Google Account, clicking on Account, I don't see any of the options described earlier where I can delete Google+.

Question is how do I remove Google+ from my Google account? I want to use GMail and I don't want Google+. I don't use any of these social networking products including facebook etc.

Does anyone knows how to remove Google+ from their Google account?
