what could be the common issue causing all these error messages?

Apologies for using the Windows 7 forum if it is not appropriate but as the problems also relate to other lesser software, this seemed to be the best place to start!

Along with this Win OS, I have also been using MS Office 2003-7 since it first came out with no problems of any significance to date.

I am now getting the following messages on these programs:

IE 9 & 10 "A problem with this webpage has caused Internet Explorer to close this tab and restart"
MS Outlook "MS Outlook has encountered a problem and is restarting"
Windows Explorer "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and is shutting down"
MS Word "MS Word has encountered a problem and is shutting down"

I know the first message is a common problem with IE but having Googled everywhere and trying all the suggestions, I am no further forward than when I started troubleshooting. I downloaded the Beta Version of IE10 hoping that might clear things up but still the same.

I get the impression that maybe JAVA is part of the problem but I have used the Java Uninstall Tool, installed the latest version but no luck.

I have also used the REPAIR option on the Win7 installation disc and similarly the MS Office disc, all to no avail!

I did a SYSTEM RESTORE going back about three weeks but again the same messages and all appeared BEFORE downloading any Windows Updates.

As an aside but hopefully of some assistance, I have had nothing but trouble updating the NVIDEA Graphics Card. Either directly from GeForce or using the Device Manager x Update Driver, it always fails during the installation process. I have uninstalled it, reinstalled it from Find New Hardware but always the same outcome!

In regards to the Outlook issue, I am also unable to get the Preview Panel (Bottom) to show any details and occasionally when I can get something to show up, the text starts to flicker ........................ possibly this is a red herring though?

Any advice or suggestions appreciated!
