Hey all, I'm having this extremely annoying issue as of the past two weeks or so in which my internet connection has been intermittently turning off and then back on. It seems to happen only when a constant stream of data is being received; for instance, I can play online games just fine with no disconnection at all. However, when I am NOT using a constant stream of any form, my internet will just randomly disconnect. It just now happened in fact. Youtube videos constantly get interrupted, websites take a LOT longer to load because I occasionally have to reconnect to the internet. Internet forms get lost because I clicked submit while the connection was down.
Here is what I have tried doing:
Disabling the option to turn off the wireless router when not in use (or something along those lines, I found it in the wireless adapter properties)
Updated the router firmware
Updated the wireless adapter drivers
Reset the router (several times)
Tried fiddling with some settings in the router
I have absolutely no idea what is causing this. I have noticed that occasionally my iPad will lose connection with the router, but it isn't showing similar symptoms on my iPad. With the tablet, occasionally I just lose internet and when I go to type in my password again, it just says I can't connect. We have had issues with the printer in our office, where it will stop working, and the only "cure" we have found is to reinstall the device on the computers.
I am thinking that my router is dieing on me, but I'm not sure. I haven't noticed any other changes in my PC as far as performance or other weird things.
Anyone have any advice?
