Windows won't display folders, Aero not displaying either after a theme change.

When I changed my theme suddenly windows explorer won't display folders anymore and it's back to the classic mode(no aero). I also can't open Personalize, Control Pannel, Screen Resolution or My Computer or it's Properties. Pretty much anything that isn't a program. The taskbar it says windows explorer instead of the folder name and when I open a folder up the center of the screen is transparent (like when a program is not responding) with the search, address and title bars at the top. When I try to type a folder location into the address bar though it gives me an error like "C:/ is not currently available" or it doesn't respond at all. I can minimize and maximize the folders properly. and if I use Run I can browse for files just fine.

I've had this problem before and a system restore fixed it but for some reason I don't have any restore points to go back to right now so I need to solve the initial problem this time. I even tried using file recovery software to bring back old restore points but they were too overwritten to bring back.

I've ran my virus checker and malware checkers and come up with nothing.

I ran Microsoft Fix it Aero and it gives me the error "Video card doesn't support required display settings" which is silly because I've been using the same card for two years now and I can still launch games just fine so the card isn't dead or anything. I also reinstalled the latest drives just to be sure and did a clean install of them. I also ran a repair of Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5 cause somewhere said it might work.

I've even gone so far as to replace explorer.exe, shell32.dll and a few other theme related files with backup original ones and I still have the problem. I've been using custom Windows themes for a while now and I just switched between ones I've already used before so it's not the theme that's at fault. I also re-ran the theme patcher to re-patch the files and nothing.

I've ran "Sfc /scannow" in command prompt and it comes up "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" "The system file repair will take effect after the next reboot" and that still didn't solve the problem.

I've also tried to run windows update thinking maybe it was an update the broke things but it won't open either.

I've been at this for hours and I have no idea what is wrong or how to fix it so any help (other than reinstall Windows) would be appreciated thanks.

My specs (if it matters) are:

RAM: 8190 Mb
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460, 1023 Mb
