Hi all,
Looking at a friends Acer 5742 laptop which has almost dead screen.
You can see the screen very faintly if you shine a light on it so it appears the problem is only with the backlighting.
I have taken the machine to pieces and checked all cabling and solder points onto any circuitry, all looks fine.
I have re-flashed the latest BIOS as suggested by some others with a similar problem on Acer's, but with no joy.
I just wanted to know if there is anything else I can check. The 5742 has a LED backlit LCD screen so there is no inverter present.
I have already ordered the replacement screen, if it doesn't solve the problem I can return within 7 days FOC.
Any ideas ?
Cheers as always......
