Hello, im having a serious problem with my laptop and would greatly appreciate any help. My hp compaq (windows vista) was working and booting up fine a couple of days ago, i went to use it and when i opened it the system was still shutting down from when i used it a couple of days age (i must of closed it before it had finished!!), it finished closing down and i went to restart it, it booted up to the password screen, entered my password, the password box disappears and looks as if it is loading but it just stays on the blue screen (with the blue vista pattern on), however it will load in safe mode! I have tried numerous times to see if it will load in "normal" mode, i have tried leaving it for hours just to see if it loads but nothing, i have tried system restore which it did, but still only works in safe mode! I have had the laptop for years,the only problem it has is reading dvds, sometimes it will read them and sometimes not! all up to date as far as i know and no new installations done so i am at my wits end! i am a student and rely on my laptop for my work! need advice asap! thankyou in advance! :)
