SoundMAX not installing on HP Probook

My girlfriend just got an HP Probook 4510s from her parents--it was bogged down with heaps of crap so I formatted it, then instead of putting crappy Vista back on it, I threw my extra copy of Windows 7 Home Premium on here (64 bit)

Everything installed fine except for the sound drivers...every time I run the installation it says my computer doesn't have compatible hardware. Then it tells me to restart if I've made any software/hardware changes recently. Rebooting does nothing..

Under Device Manager, there is not even a device under Sound. There isn't even the category for Sound, video, game controllers or whatever it is. I've ran "Find and fix problems with devices" and also Scan for hardware changes. I've updated the BIOS as well...nothing is working.

Can someone help me out? The sound worked just fine before, when it had Vista on it. I've tried the Windows 7 driver (obviously) as well as the Vista and XP drivers. Nothing will work!

The device is ADI SoundMAX 1984A

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
