Nvidia control panel

I have recently updated the driver for my graphics card and suddenly find I have two NVidia control panels installed!
version 2.7.13.16 and version 7.2.710
The latest one doesn't seem to operate properly, just tells an earlier version exists. How can I remove the older version OR remove the latest version. I don't want two and barely use it anyway!
