Hey guys, I have a HUGE problem. I got this tower off my friend and she destroyed it with whatever games she was playing, and now I'm trying to wipe it and start fresh. So I grabbed a COPY of Windows XP, that has worked several times before, and burnt it to a blank CD on my brother's windows 7. (no program was used) I proceed to turn all of the boot options to boot from CD and plug in the burned copy of Windows XP and it doesn't go further than a black screen with some white wording on it. The bottom portion of the writting says there's a disk read error.
Do I have to set the CD up as a bootable device like I would have to a USB? Could it be something to do with the computer? Could it even possibly be the kind of disk I'm using?
The tower I have is a Compaq Presario SR1710NX
