Need help choosing a new Motherboard and CPU - current mobo is discontinued

Hello there,

Thanks for taking the time to look at this post, I hope that someone is able to help me.
Here is the situation in a nutshell:

Basically my PC brokedown recently, my friend ran a diagnosis and it looks like the MOBO has moved on to Valhalla.
So I am like fine I will buy a new mobo, low and behold MSI is like "Oh we discontinued that Motherboard, and there are no current motherboards that are compatible with what you have...too bad....so sad" (ok they didn't say that last part, but essentially that is what they told me)
So now i must upgrade both my mobo and my cpu on a 2 year old rig. Does anyone know what I can purchase that will work with my current setup? (Oh and I would like to go with a brand that is NOT MSI)
