My Aunt recently gave me her old laptop, it's a Dell XPS M140 with Windows XP media center edition & i'm trying to figure out how to access the recovery partition just incase i need to reinstall windows since my aunt lost the reinstall cd that came with it. I read on dell's website the startup command for the recovery partition is CTRL+F11 so i tried it when i first turned on the computer & it didn't work because windows booted normally. About 5 years ago when windows crashed it had to be reinstalled using the cd that came with it & i read on other sites that could have made the recovery partition inaccessible. I was wondering if that's why i can't access the recovery partition now.
