I am looking for a way to utilize Excel to have users input a few fields and have estimated times be the output. I work in a production environment and this tool will help us estimate the approximate times when certain components will be needed.
I will have a spreadsheet (Sheet 2) set up with Component ID #, units per minute the production line produces, and units per case.
I want the user to input their Line Number, Customer Number, Component Number, Cases delivered to line, and Order Quantity in Dozens.
The result will show up as a number of hours it takes to deplete the inventory of that component.
Example.
The "403" line is running customer "2H". The component ID is "EFB1234". The customer ordered "200" dozen. We delivered 3 cases of the component to the production line. How long will those three cases last?
Information derived from Sheet 2. EFB1234 runs 60 units per minute. 800 units are in each case.
The end result would be 40 minutes(if my math is right). .66 hrs
