Hi Guys
Firstly here are my desktop computer details
using the TSG System Tool.
Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2
OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Home Media Centre, Service Pack 3, 32 bit
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80GHz, x86 Family 15 Model 4 Stepping 7
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 3062 Mb
Graphics Card: Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family, 224 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 71492 MB, Free - 32679 MB;
Motherboard: Dell Inc., 0HJ054
Antivirus: Norton Internet Security, Updated: Yes, On-Demand Scanner: Enabled
Since the November updates my Windows update is completely broken with so many
problems i am at my wits end with it.
Firstly when i go to services.msc there is no (background intelligent transfer service)
and no Windows Update showing, I have Automatic Update in the services showing as
enabled and on auto but when i click start (Error 127) appears.
I have just about tried everything to get Windows update working again without any
success at all.
I have scanned my system with Norton Internet Security, SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes
Anti-Malware, also done the sfc / scannow command and when doing this i keep getting asked
for the Installation disc for service packs 2 and 3 so that files can be copied back to my computer.
But being a Dell computer i do not have any Installation disc for windows XP.
I have also used Microsoft Fix-it tool but errors still not fixed, have also used other tools that say
they can fix my problems but at a cost to me.
I know there are many other people having the same problems as me with Windows Update after
the November updates by the way also done a System Restore back to October but Update problem
still exists.
I do not really want to do a complete clean install of Windows XP with updates ending on April 8th
2014, then as i have no installation disc means i will need Dells help and a huge cost to me.
Anyone have any suggestions on what i should do, or should i leave well alone as my computer is
working Ok thanks.
It does look like to me that my Windows Update is damaged beyond repair as i have been trying
for over a month to put it right without success and fed up with all the returning errors i am about
to give up on getting anymore updates.
