Win 7 won't boot, error 0x80070002

I have followed several threads on this error but found no solution:
I have a dual boot laptop running Win7 and XP. In Win7 I ran a program
to change the size of the partitions. The progrom didn't finish, came up
with an error message. Since then I have been unable to boot Win 7. XP still
boots and runs without a problem.

RollBack has saved me many times over the years but it can't help this time.
When I installed Win7 I made a recovery disk and a repair disk as recommended.
Neither can get by the error message.
Any ideas?
