I have eight e-mail accounts which I have set up in Netscape, although I've never had a NS mail address. I consider NS a great program still and do not want to switch. But right now, I cannot see my accounts as usual with all my inboxes and folders, so I can't use it. All I can see is part of my main account, which is the only reason I could get the e-mail from here. But I can't see it the usual way with the name of the account, then the folders underneath starting with Inbox, Trash, etc. showing, plus all the folders I've set up so that my mail is directed with my filters. Of course, I cannot see that mail either, only a small part of the main account mail that isn't important enough to go in one of the folders.:mad:
I've always solved this problem by reverting my hard drive with Go Back. I use it rather than System Restore since some problems involve not being able to access Windows, so SR does no good then. Trying GB last night and this morning got me several crashes when I tried going back far enough. I didn't do it soon enough due to being gone all day and most of the night for Thanksgiving dinner and shopping all night, so can't get it back far enough. Irritatingly, I got all my messages for all my accounts, but cannot even see them or get them. Is there some way to fix this other than installing NS again? I don't want to install NS 7, but don't have the download for NS 7.2, which I thought I did. Is there somewhere I can get a realiable copy of NS 7.2?
Another way that has helped in the past was to copy the prefs files from an older profile, but that isn't doing any good either. It has fixed things before, but not now. I think this is some sort of Java error. My user name is not connected in any way to the Java software, at least I think it's some sort of software, which goes to show how ignorant I am. No, this is because I'm a coffee freak, and never realized others would think I was a Java expert.
Can anyone help? I don't want to switch to any other program at this stage. I desperately need to get/send my e-mail ASAP without a bunch of hassles, but can't do that unless I can see my accounts and folders. To reiterate, the only stuff I can see is the least important stuff. I also don't know why this happens, which would help me to know the simplest way to fix this.
I just noticed the thing about TSG, but when I did this, I just got a confusing little box whose directions didn't make sense. I am already about to throw myself under a bus. I get migraines, and have a major one right now. My computer was built for me in 2003 (I never buy brand computers), but has had several upgrades and many major components were replaced, except the motherboard. I still use XP Pro, SP 3, Intel. I have two hard drives, of which the second is supposedly a back up but isn't. Each has 3.5 GB of RAM. HTH.
