Video Not Playing

I am running Windows 8 on a Dell Inspiron 660. some videos won't display in IE. The sound works and the small preview screen on the timer works, but not the full screen video. I have just downloaded adobe Shockwave Player, but that didn't help. MOST videos work fine, but some don't.

Any help is appreciated.
