last week I started having random crash issues (when turning on comp after leaving it in sleep), it seemed to have a long pause when turning on, i would get a message that boot failed from BIOS, I would reset and it would start up the 2nd time with "windows did not shutdown properly" message, I also had other issues appear so I re-installed windows about a week back...well.. went to turn on comp tonight and nothing was happening for a while, then eventually it started with the "Windows did not shutdown properly" message... I left the computer in a sleep state last night, she used it this afternoon, she said she went too shutdown but it reported I was logged in so she walked away from it, so it should sleep after 10 minutes...

...anyway, when it started the avast service was running and set to automatic in the services menu...I had this service set too manual in both her and my account with the tray icon set not too load either - basically I dont have it running but I have it installed so i can load it when I want with my ON/OFF scripts... the event viewer doesnt say anything other than shutdown at 4pm ish was unexpected... personally I think its shutdown illegally for some reason, but when booting immediately after one of these "crashes" it crashes again...then loads on the 2nd attempt!

im a bit pee'd off with all this carp, the only thing plugged in is the USB cable for my sony xperia miro phone (nothing on the other end) and the USB wifi & mouse nano adapter, BIOS is on default settings.

I would like to get too the bottom of whats causing this too happen, any advice greatly appreciated

thanks in advance.
