No sound with Skype

Ok I installed Skype so my Grandson and I could talk while playing GW2 and now I have no sound other than through Skype.
I am running win 7 on dell studio xps never had any problens with sound befor and now can only hear sound when talking to Grandson or running Skype test. Any Ideas
