I have an antiquated flip phone and use prepaid t-mobile service, since I rarely use the phone. However, there are times when I'd like to be able to text using my prepaid t-mobile account. I have switched out my SIM card before, so can I purchase an unlocked android phone and just put in the SIM card and go on using my same account? OR, do I have to purchase an phone that has been used with t-mobile, even if it is unlocked? My goal is really just to be able to text on a tablet-type phone, instead of trying to text with the traditional keypad.
