Hi,
I've found myself in the dilemma of having a stuck mouse cursor in the middle of my screen. I know it works, because I can scroll down webpages with it, and the blue circle appears when something is loading and it works on another computer. Other mice also have the same problem including using a ps/2 port instead of the usb. Everything else plugged into usb slots work. In short, ive concluded it cannot be a harware issue. So I began troubleshooting, the following have all failed:
1. Reboot
2. Uninstalling, reinstalling driver
3. CMOS reset
4.went to BIOS, "legacy USB" disabled, but I couldnt enable it unless "onboard LAN option ROM" was disabled. This caused a "CMOS checksum error: defaults loaded", and when thats happened before, it runs a test ober and over. Therefore, I reset onboard LAN option rom to enabled (thereby disabling USB device legacy).
But then THIS happened:
When I login and get to my homescreen, the background is black and In the lower right hand corner of the desktop it reads: "Windows Vista (TM) Build 6002 This copy of Windows is not genuine"
So is it possibly that I need a new OS?!
Sorry for the novel, i just wanted to give you a narrative of what I've been doing to try to fix this. Any suggestions would be immensely appreciated. As you can imagine I'm quite frustrated.
