The problem I am having now is due to a long chain of events stemming from ridding myself of a Zeroaccess virus. It seemed one fix led to another led to another and I thought everything was solved, but then the printer wouldn't work. This led me to many other troubleshooting methods I found, but so far, nothing has worked because it led me to this issue I haven't been able to remedy. This post is a last resort and Techguy has been helping me throughout the years as far back as the late 1990s. I'm going to go make a donation after I post this.
After determining my printer would not share, and looking into the services, I noted that Windefend in the description says, "Failed to Read Description" and when I try to start the service it gives me error code 5.
It seems Windefend is something I need in order for other processes to work that will allow the printer to be shared? Honestly, after all the troubleshooting and fixes I've tried over the past month, I can't even remember all of what I've already tried. I've probably created more problems by this point. :(
Thanks in advance for the help!
