Pop-Ups, Webpages don't load properly

Hello.

I'm a Windows 8 User and recently have been having constant pop-ups whenever I surf on any website, whether Facebook, my e-mail and everything else. I've tried with different browsers and have been having the same issue.

I do however get a message saying this:

For some reason your system denied access to the Hosts file. If any hijacked domains are in his file, HijackThis may NOT be able to fixed this.

If that happens you need to edit the file yourself. To do this, click Start, Run and type
notepad C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

and press Enter. Find the line(s) HijackThis reports and deletes them, Save the file as 'hosts' (with quotes) and reboot.


Can somebody please run me through this as well? Help very very much appreciated. Thank you!
