Connect Cable Broadband to Wi Fi Router

Hi,

I have a cable broadband from spectranet, which is directly connected to system without modem or router...so i just wanted to know can i connect it to a wi fi router and use it as wireless connection...let it be anything netgear or any other provider...so please help me out with this...thanks
