I have an Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU PC, E2160@1.80 GHz, 1.79 GHz, 1.99 GB of RAM, and a Kodak ESP C310 printer. A box popped up on my screen indicating that an update to my printer was available. This has happened before, with no problems, so I allowed it to be installed. The printer works fine. But since then, I have had no audio, and the tiny audio icon is missing from the "Start" toolbar. A box entitled "Found New Hardware Wizard" appeared on my screen, and searched for an audio device and couldn't find it. It urged me to put in a software CD if I had one, but I didn't know what it referred to, or why this new hardware was installed when it pertains to audio, and not to the printer. The "Found New Hardware Wizard" tells me, "This hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software." I have gone through troubleshooting, tried to find the problem, but I have been unable to solve it. All I know is that I have no audio at all. Windows Media can read a music CD when I insert one, but it does not play, and gives me the message; "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly." I have no audio on/from my PC at all, not even the little sounds normally made by the PC itself--turning on, announcing I have mail, whatever. Please tell me what I can do to fix this. Thank you.
