Sound devices not recognized

OK,

Last night my sound was fine. This morning I had to hardkill my computer. When it started again, my sound would not work. Mousing over the sound icon in the tray said no sound devices were plugged in, even though they are. When I go to the audio tab in control panel devices are there but are grayed out. I tried reinstalling realtek HD drivers. They seemed to install correctly, but still same problem. Checked BIOS and sound is enabled. Tried installing generic Windows drivers but that did not work either. When I try to open Realtek sound manager, I get an error that says dirver is Vista only. But driver download is for XP/7/8/Vista versions. When I look at the file on my drive, it looks there are folder for vista, but not Windows 7 (my OS).

If I go control panel I can see the audio devices, but they are grayed out. Have run reg scans and virus scans but still nothing.
