Hi guys,
I was fiddling around with performance settings in my bios, and after enabling a special cpu speed enhancement option, I was unable to boot, so I reset the Cmos battery (took it out, waited, then put it back in), to reset the bios.
I was then able to boot windows again.
Previously, I remember I had the intel i7 cpu running at an oc'd 3.8ghz, and I've had it like that ever since I first used it, but resetting the cmos, changed that to 2.0ghz, but the cpu is supposed to be 2.8ghz.
That's the only thing I've noticed since the reset, that seems odd...
Now, the symptoms:
After I booted up windows, I noticed a couple of times, the screen glitched, across the entire LCD screen.
I loaded a game, to test stability, and noticed it was glitching again the same way, during the menu screen, and the loading screen, but NOT during gameplay... I found this to be quite strange.
I've also noticed that as I'm using firefox now, when I scroll up and down inside the window here, the entire lcd screen glitches much more, while it scrolling, and I don't mean its glitching in a laggy way, I mean the entire LCD screen has these black glitchy lines that run through it quickly, and disappear, almost like a tv station that is not properly tuned (not quite, but similar).
Any idea what could have caused this, following a Cmos reset?
EDIT:
I went back to bios, and changed the cpu multiplier back to 22x, and everything seems to be fine, except for the fact that my wireless usb mouse seems to not detect automatically when windows starts, like it was before...
