Alright, my computer is about 6 years old now, a Gateway SX2802. 6GB RAM, 1TB HDD (600GB+ remaining), Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50GHz (4 CPUs), Windows 7 64-bit, and a AMD Radeon HD 6570.
Now the specs are out of the way, the issue is, that a few months ago, my pc has started to lag and crash. Computer boots fine, do my casual thing, then a few hours latter or after waking my computer up from it sleeping, the computer gradually begins to lag.
The lag being, the mouse cursor skips and the audio crackles.
I have no issues with playing most games at High settings, and I am also a Live Streamer on Twitch. I can recreate this almost everytime playing the game Team Fortress 2. Now, this is the only game I can recreate this on. All of games are fine, CoD, BF 3, Dota 2, stuff like that.
I am having issues determining what the problem is. All of my drivers are up to date, as I have used DriverUpdate to do this for me for Hardware Updates. I just started using DriverUpdate last week, and this issue has been going on for atleast half a year now or longer.
I have ran Memtest, Prime95, and I have defragged and error checked my HDD. All with no red flags and errors. Also, my computer is not overheating in any area as well.
After looking into my MiniDumps, I have noticed some issues.
Hal.dll and ntoskrnl.exe were the culprits to these BSODs. These both returned a x0124 Bug Code. Ntoskrnl.exe is a NT Kernal & Systems, and I know Hal.dll is relating to the System as well.
I am asking for help on how to fix this on going issue. I can be doing homework on my computer or gaming, and this lag will come out of nowhere, creating a crash. I would be grateful if we could figure this out, as I have been trying to do this for such a long time. I want to aim to avoid reinstalling Windows 7 for as long as possible since I have so much on it that I need. So all help will be appreciated, thank you.
