Word Press Import

I am using Word Press v. 3.5.2

I have been developing Pages using one domain name. I want to transfer those Pages from the "development" Word Press website to an existing domain. I have searched the Word Press forum and reviewed the entries regarding "Export" and "Import." I have reviewed the comments in the exported file regarding Import.

However, I tested the Export feature. Throughout the Exported ("development" website) xml file is the "development" website URL. I don't want to change the url or domain name of the destination website, I just want to "transfer" the Pages from the "development" website to the destination website.

I also checked http://codex.wordpress.org/Importing_Content#WordPress. That article talks about "mapping users," but there is no discussion of the embedded URLS.

What do I need to do to Import from the "development" website to the destination website without causing any problems to that destination website?

I posted to the Word Press support forum (after searching it), but I have not received a response. Several Google searches (using different search criteria) found nothing that I can determine is relevant. I also searched this forum without success.

Can anyone on this forum help?
