I'm responsible for managing the wireless network at a large retirement complex, and when trouble-shooting network problems it's often helpful to identify clients. I've asked residents to give me the names of their computers and other wireless devices that use the network, but many say they don't know where to find the name. On a Win-7 PC, the name is shown as part of system information, reached by going to Control Panel / System. In Appleland, system info must be viewable by some similar approach. Can someone tell me how so that I can advise our residents where to look? I want to build a directory cross-referencing wireless device names with identities of their owners.
