Outlook hung up

I have Outlook and Windows 8, and this morning it just stopped working. The screen opens up, I can see what emails have been sent to me, but the emails themselves aren't there. I have my screen set up so that the reading pane is on the bottom, but the reading pane is simply blank. I've tried changing the reading pane to the right or even turning it off, to see if that makes a difference, but I can't do that. It just stays on the bottom.

And I can't switch folders from Inbox to any of my other folders.

This is only true on my Acer laptop, but it's true across all browsers -- Firefox, IE, Chrome. Outlook seems to work fine on my iPad with Safari.
