To begin with, my laptop will shut down after I unplug it from a power source after 2-10minutes. It will still have sufficient power and it will do a complete shut off(Not a proper shutting off- but instant) I have gone through the power options and nothing there should be causing this. I have also tried updating the drivers. I sadly do not have another battery to test if my battery is the problem.
Secondly, while playing games, I believe my laptop is selecting the wrong graphics processor to run off of. It seems to be based off of whether or not the laptop is running off battery or plugged-in, but it also just seems random sometimes. Sometimes I will be getting 5fps on a game, and after unplugging my laptop from the power source it will jump to 60fps. Sometimes it will do the reverse. In both the intel and nvidia control panel, I have selected it to use "high-performance Nvidia processor" for whatever game it is I want to play, but that seems to make no difference. I've also checked the power options.
Another problem I'm having is about 50% of the time I start up my laptop, the sound will be an awful mess of crackling. Restarting my sound cards and whatever else I've tried doesn't seem to do anything, except restarting my laptop.
Lastly, my internet will drop out every 15-30seconds for a couple seconds. This is a problem only my laptop is having; no other device in my house experiences any problems. It also doesn't matter if I'm using wireless or I'm directly connected to the router.
So, clearly I'm having a lot of trouble with my Alienware, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
