Access 2010 weirdness

Hi,
Something strange is happening to one of my user's database.

Its a split database with the tables being on the server and the front end local on the pc. The tables are linked.

When I try to open one of the tables I get a message saying

'c:\foldername\tables\databasename_bev0.3 (4).accdb' is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides. The actual file path is one that is on my laptop, which I used to develop the database. Before placing the database on the server and local machines I changed the location of the linked tables to that of the location on my server.

However, when I look in the linked table manager, the path for the table is showing as the file path on the server. When the user updates the table with a new record it is added to the back end database on the server. In order to open the table from the front end, I have created a dummy folder structure on the local pc on the C:\ drive that mirrors the original folder path from the development stage. This allows the table to open, but it actually opens the table that is on the server.

I've tried re-linking the table, but it still displays the same message.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Karen
