Working on a computer for friend. No sound. Device Manager shows yellow triangle (!) for Realtek high definition audio I have deleted and restarted computer to automatically search for and reinstall drivers. I've downloaded new drivers from Realtek. No drivers will reinstall properly. Device status shows: "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The drivers may be corrupted or missing (Code 39). Device mfr is Realtek, Driver ver is 6.0.1.6873. Driver date is 3/29/2013 but nothing works. Graphics card shows as RS880.
I'm all out of ideas. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.
