I have just built my system and was thinking of running SLI in a close future. My current motherboard is made by gigabyte and has one PCI-E x16 2.0 slot and a PCI-E x16 1.0 slot. My video card, 780 gtx, currently occupies the 2.0 slot. If I were to get another, would it lower it's performance in the 1.0 slot? I would rather not change my motherboard since it was expensive and I just bought it. I heard that between PCI-E x16 3.0 and PCI-E x16 2.0 isn't much of a difference and won't affect performance noticeably. Is it the same thing between PCI-E x16 2.0 and PCI-E x16 1.0? Would I be able to use a 780 gtx in the 1.0 slot and not have a problem?
