I have recently been playing this game on my Nintendo 3DS and other DS games with no problems since it is backwards compatible and because my old DS systems both have broken screen hinges do to a lot of use. But Mario and Luigi Partners in Time was bought used and worked great on my 3DS. But haven't played it in a while do to some other games. Yesterday I went to play it and got an error message telling me to turn off the power and refer to the owners manual. I played the same game on my DS lite and it works fine with no error message. I also played a couple of other DS games to make sure that was the only one. So I don't know what the deal is, please help whenever you can.
